STAQ

Connect STAQ to ChatGPT or Claude

Ask about the strength-training history you have already recorded in STAQ. The connector reads your data and replies in text; it cannot change your account or workouts.

Directory availability is pending review and production rollout. These instructions also cover private testing with a compatible remote MCP client; they do not mean STAQ is already listed.

Before you connect

Use an existing STAQ account with a completed profile and logged workouts. STAQ Free is sufficient; no STAQ Pro subscription is required for these reads. Your AI client must support remote Streamable HTTP MCP and OAuth account linking; its own plan or workspace settings may restrict custom connectors.

The server URL is https://api.staq.fit/mcp. Do not paste your STAQ password, access tokens or private workout notes into a connector configuration or chat.

  1. In ChatGPT, find STAQ in Plugins when available. For private testing, use Add custom MCP server. In Claude, use Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector (or select STAQ in the directory when available). Enter the server URL above when asked. Labels may vary by client.
  2. Choose Connect and follow the OAuth sign-in page. Check that you are on staq.fit before entering your STAQ password or continuing with Google. Password sign-in may ask you to verify your email first.
  3. Review the requested permissions: staq.profile.read reads your name, weight units and weekly workout goal; staq.history.read reads your logged workouts and hard-set summaries. Approve only the client you intended to link, then return to your conversation and enable STAQ there.
  4. offline_access lets the client refresh this authorization between sessions. It adds no data or write permission.

What you can ask

  • “What weight units and weekly workout goal are saved in my STAQ profile?”: get_profile.
  • “List my STAQ workouts from 1 to 7 October 2026 in Europe/London, including exercise sets.”: list_workouts, newest first, with reps, weight and RIR when logged.
  • “Summarize my STAQ hard sets by muscle group from 1 to 7 October 2026 in Europe/London.”: get_training_summary, with workouts containing hard sets, hard-set counts and hard-set volume in kg.

These are the only three tools. There is no workout logging, editing, deletion, routine creation or History Import through this connection. It does not measure recovery, calories or medical outcomes. Treat generated explanations as suggestions, not recorded facts or medical advice.

Dates, time zones and hard sets

Give a start date, end date and IANA time zone such as Europe/London. Tools accept dates as YYYY-MM-DD, include both whole days and default to UTC when no time zone is supplied. History selects workouts by their start time. Changing time zone can change which day a workout falls on; keep it the same across comparisons and pages.

History returns 10 workouts per page by default, at most 25. Ask the client to continue with next_cursor as the next cursor, keeping the date range and time zone unchanged, before treating a list as complete.

A hard set has RIR (reps in reserve) of 3 or less. Sets without logged RIR also count as hard sets; they do not mean RIR was measured as zero. Hard-set volume is weight in kilograms × reps for those sets. Summaries include only workouts with hard sets, not every logged workout. No summary data is not a measurement of zero effort; check the date range and history.

Disconnect and data sharing

Open STAQ Linked apps, sign in and choose disconnect beside the client. This revokes that client’s STAQ access, including its refresh tokens. You can also remove the connector in your AI client. Disconnecting does not delete your STAQ workouts or erase data already returned to the AI client; manage saved conversations and data there separately.

When you use a tool, the requested profile or workout data is shared with the connected AI provider to answer your question. Review its data controls and STAQ’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Service before linking. Do not use this connector for clinical or medical records.

Help and support

If connection is unavailable, production access or your client’s rollout may not yet be enabled. If access expires or is revoked, reconnect and review permissions again. For empty results, check the signed-in account, date range and time zone. If rate limited, wait before retrying; do not repeatedly reconnect.

Email staq@nottage.digital with the client name, date/time, time zone and a description of the problem. Never send passwords, tokens or private workout data. Publisher: Nottage Digital, staq.fit.
